The best salmon I have even eaten!
Our room - it was so nice!
After a short break in blogging, here I am again! I have NO idea why it has been so long, but I had the thought the other day that all you people out there were probably getting a pretty big craving for a Nicole Post - you know, all my many readers. And I can't let my fans down, now can I? Cheese ball :)
So lets see here, what has happened in the last month worth noting...
KYLIE IS WALKING NOW! All of a sudden on January 10th she woke up and could walk! It was a shock to me when she just toddled across the floor to me and has NOT stopped since! She is saying words also. Her "words" are:
mama
dada - she loves this one!
"jucccc" - juice
mi mi - "milk"
So she is of course a brilliant young 11 month old - probably a prodigy and will skip all grades and head straight for Harvard!
She can also feed herself....such talent ;)
My sweet boy is so close to being "3" it is killing me. I can actually have wonderful conversations with him now. He can label feelings and tell me that he is "hungry" "tired" "upset" - which is a BIG plus! He has thoughts on things and opinions on the things he likes and dislikes. He is growing into a young person and leaving behind my sweet baby boy. Of course he will always be my first born sweet baby - but I can see that everyday he is growing and maturing into this little person. We are going to sign him up for PRESCHOOL in the fall! Now if that doesn't say "big boy" I don't know what does! It is a two day a week (Tues/Thurs) program that runs 8-12 in the morning. I THINK I can let him go for 8 hours a week...it WILL be hard though! He will be attending Woodford Christian School - so I am pumped about how that is going to go. I am savoring every second with him now though because I fear that all too soon he will be leaving for college....arg....;)
As for me and the hubs - we are doing wonderfully. Everyday I think I love that man more and more as I see him with the kids and see how much they love each other. We celebrated our 5 year anniversary on December 27th, 2008 and got to go on an ALL NIGHT date! Hotel and everything - no babies!!! I think the last time I was away from them was the time I was in the hospital having Kylie! So that was much needed! We got new clothes, went to a little French restaurant downtown Lex. and stayed at a little hotel downtown. It was so neat :) Again, MUCH needed - although we both woke up at 7am ready to go, even though we both swore we would sleep in! Oh well...we had a lovely breakfast before we both HAD to get home and get our kid fix :) Baby steps :)
Stephen has been working round the clock with the ice storm. I can't tell you how proud I am of the man he is. He is the BEST hubby, the most wonderful father, the HARDEST worker - how did I get so blessed??? He loves his job and flying! He is creeping up the ladder of success too - in the next year he will become Captain Martin AND become Pilot in Command. Oh I am so proud of him.
My sissy and her fam MIGHT be moving back here in the next year also. WHAT AN ANSWER TO MY PRAYERS!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want more than ANYTHING to have her back here so that we can hang out all the time ;)
Well I have lost all the baby weight and then some. Thanks to weight watchers - which TOTALLY rocks I have lost 17 lbs putting me way below what I was in High School - cool huh?
Finally - even though I have not officially told anybody (except Heather) we are looking around at other churches. I will leave it at that but really am so excited about the church I have been to twice - QUEST Community Church! The kids and I have been twice now and we all LOVE it. I have not been this excited about worship in a LONG time. I can honestly say that I have been revived a bit and can't WAIT to get back! Elijah and Kylie LOVE the children's care program and I love because they love it! Worship is awesome - they have a full out band, lights, man - it is like a concert! Anywho - Stephen and I really wanted a church to call our "own" - to start building a foundation at a church that we both feel a part of - so not to say Quest is it - we are just looking around - seeing what else is out there - seeing where God wants us to be. We just want to be used and to be walking in the right direction, doing the things that HE wants us to do, building His kingdom - and doing it as a family.
I guess that is enough for now - I am going to really try to be more consistent with this because it is kinda like therapy for me - to get thoughts out...
im glad you are back!
